The OBD-II (OnBoard Diagnostics 2) port is a 16-pin socket/port found on cars and light trucks. Primarily used to check vehicle diagnostics with a scanner, they have also made it very convenient to power devices such as GPS trackers so that manual wiring is no longer required.

All EVs, cars, and light trucks sold in New Zealand since 2006 are required to have an OBD-II port.
For vehicles older than 2006, petrol cars/trucks manufactured after 1996 and diesel cars/trucks manufactured from 2000 onwards will also have an OBD-II port.
Typically the port will be located underneath the dashboard, usually on the driver's side.
